Golf Instructor
I grew up in a small town called Manson, Washington, where my love for golf started early—before I can even remember. But it wasn’t until I took a lesson at the San Diego Golf Academy that I realized the impact a great instructor could have. I remember watching my teacher say just a few simple words, and suddenly, after a few swings, I was hitting the best shots of my life. It was like magic. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to help other golfers experience that same feeling.
My journey as a golf instructor has been anything but ordinary. After attending the San Diego Golf Academy and earning my degree in Golf Complex Management, I went on to get my PGA Class A certification through the University of Idaho's PGM program. Since then, I’ve worn many hats in the golf industry—everything from caddy to head golf professional to lead fitter at a top 100 fitting location. I've been teaching golf since 2007, and I've worked with everyone from first-time golfers to seasoned players trying to shave off those last few strokes.
What sets me apart as an instructor is my belief that there’s no cookie-cutter approach to improving your game. Everyone's swing is unique, and sometimes changing your technique isn't even necessary to play better. I focus on helping you see real improvements right away, whether it's hitting the ball farther, striking it more cleanly, or just having more fun on the course. I don’t believe in rebuilding your swing from the ground up if you don’t need it. Instead, I help you get better at playing the game of golf—thinking your way around the course, knowing when to take risks, and understanding how to get the most out of your own swing.
I’ve used all kinds of tools to help my students—from video analysis and launch monitors to training aids and 3D swing technology. But at the end of the day, what matters most is finding what works for you. My job is to communicate in a way that clicks, whether you're a visual learner, a hands-on person, or someone who just needs to hear the right words.
I absolutely love seeing that "aha" moment in my students. When you hit the ball better than you ever thought possible, that’s what makes me tick. My goal is simple: I want you to leave our lesson feeling confident, excited, and eager to play again.
Outside of golf, I enjoy hiking, surfing, camping, and spending time with my wife. A fun fact about me: I’m actually left-handed, but I play golf right-handed—so if you’re struggling with something in your game, trust me, I know what it’s like to approach things from a different angle!
